Datenschutzerklärung

für die App „FaLe PDF“ (Android-App und Web-Version) · Stand: Oktober 2026 (Cloud-KI, Werbevideos, FaLe Plus, verschlüsseltes Teilen, freiwilliges FaLe-Konto und FaLe Sync)

Das Wichtigste in Kürze

1. Verantwortlicher

Verantwortlich im Sinne der Datenschutz-Grundverordnung (DSGVO) ist:

[VOR- UND NACHNAME DES BETREIBERS]
[STRASSE UND HAUSNUMMER]
[PLZ ORT], [LAND]
E-Mail: [E-MAIL-ADRESSE]

7. Optionale Cloud-KI (KI-Assistent)

FaLe PDF bietet optionale KI-Funktionen (z.

Privacy policy

for the app “FaLe PDF” (Android app and web version) · As of: October 2026

The key points

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

[VOR- UND NACHNAME DES BETREIBERS]
[STRASSE UND HAUSNUMMER]
[PLZ ORT], [LAND]
Email: [E-MAIL-ADRESSE]

2. What data does the app process?

FaLe PDF is a tool for reading, editing and creating files. All content you open, create or edit (e.g. PDFs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, text, images, scans, signatures, notes, bookmarks and settings) is stored only in your device’s storage – in the Android app in the private app storage, in the web version in your browser’s storage (IndexedDB/localStorage). The provider has no access to it.

This data remains stored until you delete it in the app, uninstall the app or delete the website data in your browser.

3. Permissions of the Android app

4. Opening, sharing and saving files

When you open a file from another app with FaLe PDF or share it to FaLe PDF, it is imported into the app locally. When you share or save a file from FaLe PDF, you decide on the destination yourself (e.g. a messenger, email or cloud app). The provider of that app is then responsible for further processing.

5. Installation via Google Play and Android backup

When you download the app via Google Play, Google processes data (e.g. your Google account and device information) under its own responsibility. Google’s privacy policy applies. The provider of FaLe PDF only receives anonymous, aggregated statistics from Google (e.g. number of installs, crash reports without file contents), insofar as you have agreed to this in the Android settings.

If you have enabled automatic backup (“Google backup”) in Android, Android may back up app data to your own Google account so that it can be restored on a new device. You control this backup in the Android settings; the provider of FaLe PDF has no access to it.

6. Web version (hosting)

When you open the web version in your browser, the program files are delivered by our hosting provider: [HOSTING-ANBIETER, z. B. Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA]. In doing so, the hosting provider processes technically necessary connection data (IP address, date and time, requested file, browser identifier) in server logs in order to deliver the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). [Bei Anbietern in den USA: Hinweis auf EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework bzw.

Your files are not uploaded in the web version either – unless you deliberately share them or use FaLe Sync (both end-to-end encrypted, sections 10 and 11): processing takes place entirely in your browser. After the first visit, the web version can be used offline (service worker).

7. Optional cloud AI (AI assistant)

FaLe PDF offers optional AI features (e.g. chat with a document, summarize, translate, writing help, slides, flashcards, letters, translate a photo). Where your browser supports it, summarizing and translating can also run entirely on your device (“On device”) – then nothing is transferred. For the cloud AI:

8. Voluntary video ads (Android app only)

In the Android app you can voluntarily watch a short video ad to get extra AI requests for the day. Only when you tap “Watch a video ad” is the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, loaded. Before that, the app asks for your consent via Google’s consent platform (UMP) on whether personalised ads may be shown. Without consent, only non-personalised ads are loaded where possible.

Google processes, among other things, your device’s advertising ID, device and app information, the IP address and interactions with the ad in order to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud. So that we can credit the reward, Google sends our server a signed confirmation with a transaction number and your pseudonymous device identifier (not the advertising ID). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG); you can change it at any time under “AI settings → Ad consent”. More information: How Google uses information from apps.

9. FaLe Plus (subscription via Google Play)

If you subscribe to the voluntary “FaLe Plus”, Google Play handles payment and subscription management under its own responsibility; we receive no payment data. To unlock the subscription, our server verifies the purchase with the Google Play Developer API and only stores a hash of the purchase token, the product, the expiry date and your pseudonymous device identifier. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The data is deleted 30 days after the subscription ends. FaLe Plus cannot currently be purchased in the web version.

10. Share securely, request signature and connect devices

These features need an internet connection and are only used when you actively start them. They are end-to-end encrypted: files are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before they are uploaded. The key is only part of the link (the part after “#”), which browsers never send to a server. We therefore cannot read the content – not even the file names.

11. Optional FaLe account and FaLe Sync

FaLe PDF works fully without an account. If you want, you can create a FaLe account (one account for all apps of the FaleNetwork). It lets you sync your data between your devices with FaLe Sync, and FaLe Plus and your AI quota then belong to your account on all devices.

12. Your rights

Without an account we store no readable content and no data that directly identifies you. We then hold at most pseudonymous counters and – for shared files – encrypted data we cannot read (sections 7–10), which we cannot attribute to you without the random identifier on your device or the link. With a FaLe account we additionally store your email address and the data listed in section 11; sync content stays unreadable for us. You can delete your account and all cloud data yourself in the app at any time. Regardless of this, under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence.

For privacy questions you can reach us at [E-MAIL-ADRESSE].

13. Children

FaLe PDF is not specifically aimed at children. The cloud AI, video ads, FaLe Plus and the FaLe account are intended for adults.

14. Changes

If the app changes in a way that affects privacy (e.g. through a new feature), we will update this policy. You can always find the current version in the app under “Profile → Legal” and at [DOMAIN]/datenschutz.html.

This is a translation for your convenience. The German version is legally binding.
